Lectures for the Public, 2010: Humanities Reading the World
The following lectures are designed to promote greater interest and understanding of the humanities in Eunpyeong-gu community. Through a perspective rooted in humanities, these lectures attempt to reflect upon a vast range of phenomena, people, and events scattered across time and space – from Korea to the world, from the past to present. EIH faculty members in the Trans-Humanities Research Team, whose fields of interests lie in literature, history, and philosophy, lead lectures that promote a better public understanding of the present age and provide an opportunity to dwell upon the potential each individual holds in society at large. The course consists of two parts: four lectures in the first half will focus on Koreans and the Korean society, while the next four lectures cover other regions and a variety of other topics.
